Three Israeli Air Force helicopters landed troops early Friday morning in the Syrian village of Yafour, located 10 kilometers from the capital Damascus, Al Mayadeen television reports.

Israeli special forces cleared a Republican Guard base of Syria's former military in the area, TASS reports. The operation lasted about five hours, after which the Israeli military left Syria by helicopter.

Separately, Israeli army mechanized patrols were deployed this morning to the village of Rahle, west of Damascus on the Lebanese-Syrian border, Al Mayadeen reports. They were seen also in the Ain Deker and Saysoun areas on the Yarmouk River in southern Daraa Governorate, where they cleared on Wednesday. Militant hideouts and weapons depots were discovered during this operation.
