Armenia has been and remains interested in the expansion of regional interconnectivity and economic development. Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ani Badalyan stated this in response to the Armenpress Agency's inquiry, commenting on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement on the deblocking of transportation communications.
- Today the Turkish President touched upon the topic of deblocking of transport communications and mentioned the term “corridor”, noting that Armenia is more flexible in this issue to participate in economic integration. How would you comment on that?
Armenia has been and remains interested in expanding regional interconnectivity and economic development. It is with this understanding that the Republic of Armenia launched the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative and its individual ideas, solutions and constructive proposals.
In our opinion, they can provide mutually beneficial results both for the countries of the region and for the partners interested in developing a wider geographical network of communications. As before, so now the vision of the Republic of Armenia to unblock the transportation infrastructure in the region is based on the fundamental principles of sovereignty, national jurisdiction over communications and, as we know, does not imply any other logic. Discussions with interested partners are ongoing.
