Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his wish that the sad events that took place would not lead to irreparable damage to relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. He said this to reporters on board a plane on his return from occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, where he participated in the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, Anadolu reports.

"Turkey has deep diplomatic and strategic relations with both Azerbaijan and Russia. We are closely monitoring the tensions and calling for restraint.

Our greatest wish is that the unfortunate events that took place will not cause irreparable damage to the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan," Erdogan said.
