Another argument and brawl broke out at Tuesday’s special session of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia.

The motion to grant consent to launch public criminal prosecution against NA opposition "Armenia" faction member Artur Sargsyan is being debated on.

Sargsyan made closing remarks, and noted that the decision on his case had, in fact, already been made.

“I will voluntarily go to the Investigative Committee,” he added, in particular.

According to the MP, his further presence in the NA building is pointless.

The parliamentary opposition applauded Sargsyan’s aforesaid decision.

Then, NA deputy speaker Ruben Rubinyan from the ruling majority Civil Contract Faction decided to comment on Sargsyan’s decision.

This was followed by Sargsyan’s remark from the NA sessions’ hall. At that moment, he was leaving the hall.

In response, the ruling majority faction lawmakers began to shout from their seats, after which they got up and attacked Sargsyan with their fists, and used slang expressions.

Rubinyan, unable to control the situation, declared a recess.
