YEREVAN. – Strategic-allied relations between Armenia and Russia were marked by steps directed to the further deepening the cooperation, elaboration and realization of project perspectives, Armenian MFA report on 2011 reads.

Political dialogue continued intensely on the highest level last year, the report reads. Armenian and Russian Presidents held more than ten bilateral and multilateral meetings. Armenian President also met with the Russian PM.

Armenian President made the first official visit to Russia within the frameworks of Armenian-Russian relations on Oct. 23-25, 2011, where he met with the Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, PM Vladimir Putin, heads of both Chambers of Russian Parliament and the Mayor of Moscow.

Over 7 documents were signed during the visit. Meeting between Armenian and Russian PMs Tigran Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin followed in the same month, while two FMs held more than ten meetings during last year.

Russian Yaroslavl city hosted the 20th Armenian-Russian inter-parliamentary commission session on cooperation in April, 2011, followed by the first forum of inter-regional cooperation in the same month in Yerevan. Russian Rostov city hosted the 13th intergovernmental commission session on economic cooperation in June. Besides, both MFAs held periodically political consultations.
