Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a detailed chat about the Ukraine situation, as well as what's going on with Iran and Syria.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, in order to develop the agreements reached by the Russian and US presidents, including during their latest telephone conversation on July 3, a thorough review was conducted on the entire range of issues on the bilateral agenda and the situation in the world.

A substantive and frank exchange of views took place on the settlement in Ukraine, the situation in Iran and Syria, as well as a number of other international issues.

The foreign ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to seeking peaceful solutions to conflict situations and stressed the importance of further work to normalize the functioning of bilateral diplomatic missions.

Russia and the US will continue constructive and mutually respectful dialogue between their foreign ministries, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. Lavrov and Rubio confirmed their commitment to restoring contacts, which could be facilitated by the resumption of direct flights between Russia and the US.
