The United States supports efforts to foster peace and stability in the South Caucasus. This was stated by State Department spokesperson Tami Bruce in response to a question about whether Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's recent statement expressing hope for a quick peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan was related to the meeting between the leaders of the two countries in Abu Dhabi.

“We are monitoring media reports, but no additional information is available at this time. The Trump administration and Secretary Rubio have made it clear that they are prepared to do whatever is necessary to achieve peace, as this is part of our commitment to improving the situation around us,” she said.
