EТCMIADZIN. – Armenian community in Kolkata, India, teachers and senior schoolchildren at Armenian Humanitarian Seminary on Jan. 15 went on pilgrimage to St. Hovhannes the Baptist Church in Chinsurah, built in 1695.

The relic of St Hovhannes is kept in Armenian Church of the Holy Nazareth in Kolkata and is taken to the same church once a year, Holy See of Etchmiadzin informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To note, there are no Armenians in Chinsura, former Armenian-populated city, but the church is well preserved and cared by Armenian Church of the Holy Nazareth.
