Today military confrontation or escalation between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not relevant, Azerbaijani media reports. Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Aliyev Administration, said in an interview to German newspaper “Berliner Zeitung”.

According to him, work on signing a peace agreement between the two countries is ongoing.

"Sometimes peace agreements are signed only formally without bringing real peace. In the case of the South Caucasus, the situation is different - there is real peace here. Military confrontation or escalation between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not on the agenda. There are only some disputable moments left, which is quite natural. This is what diplomacy and dialog are for," Hajiyev said.
