The trickle of aid reaching the Gaza Strip must turn into an ocean, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres said on Tuesday, according to Reuters.

“Food, water, medicine, and fuel must be delivered in full and without hindrance,” he said, describing a report by the global agency fighting hunger published on Tuesday as confirmation of “what we feared: Gaza is on the brink of starvation.”

“Palestinians in Gaza are facing a humanitarian catastrophe of epic proportions. This is not a warning. This is a reality unfolding before our eyes,” his statement said.
