The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has issued a statement in response to misinformation spread in the media today about disruptions in customs control at the border, Georgia Online reports.

The agency officially stated that the movement of goods in the country's customs territory, as well as the crossing of the border by individuals through all checkpoints, is being carried out without delays.

  • To ensure round-the-clock operation, customs officer shifts have been increased throughout the country.
  • The agency is actively coordinating with the customs authorities of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Armenia to maintain stable international freight traffic.
  • All checkpoints are equipped with modern X-ray scanners, which speed up the inspection process and improve security.

The Revenue Service urges the public to refrain from spreading inaccurate and potentially harmful information regarding cargo control procedures at the border.
