The Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: The Azerbaijani authorities have decided to close the Red Cross office and not allow any representative of the company to visit Armenian prisoners. The Zhoghovurd daily learned from the family members of Armenian prisoners that the Azerbaijani side has banned to from now on visit Armenian prisoners, including Armenian military-political prisoners.

Zhoghovurd learned that the relatives of military-political prisoners were informed by the Red Cross office: if [before] they were allowed to visit the prisoners once a month, to establish contact with [their] relatives via video call for a few minutes, now the Azerbaijani side has categorically banned these visits.

The relatives of the prisoners have found themselves in a dead end. If there were even a hope to establish contact with the captives at least through the Red Cross, now that hope also has faded. We learned that the Azerbaijani side is not making any concessions, and the Peace Agreement promised by [Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan is becoming blurrier day by day. Let us recall that Baku officially confirms the fact of the capture of 23 Armenians, 17 of whom have ended up there after Azerbaijan's September [military] aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)].

Among them are representatives of the military-political leadership of Artsakh. They have been illegally held in a Baku prison for more than two years. Many parents claim that there are actually more prisoners from the Armenian side, Azerbaijan simply does not accept this fact.
