It is noticeable that there is some confusion in Armenia’s media regarding Armenia's positions on the topic of unblocking the region's transport links, and the media see contradictions in the statements of Armenia’s officials. Nazeli Baghdasaryan, press secretary of the prime minister of the Republic of Armenia (RA), wrote this on Facebook.

“This is somewhat understandable because the topic has many nuances which sometimes become more complicated when combined with certain terms: rental, leasing, construction rights, delegating. Each of the terms, of course, can have a different meaning, depending on what exactly it refers to.

In order to ease the issue for the esteemed representatives of the mass media, I want to emphasize once again that the Republic of Armenia has never discussed, is not discussing, and will not discuss such options for transport links passing through its territory that are incompatible with the territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia.

And, on the contrary, within the framework of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, the Republic of Armenia is not only discussing various resolutions on the use of regional transport links, but is also interested in the matter of reaching an agreement on any of the resolutions.

The RA representatives who say that Armenia has not discussed, is not discussing, and will not discuss, are definitely talking about resolutions that are incompatible with RA territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction.

The RA representatives who are talking about discussions are referring to resolutions within the framework of RA territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, construction rights, etc., which Prime Minister [Nikol] Pashinyan spoke about during the press conference on July 16.

The RA territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, of course, cannot be delegated. Business management of railways, pipelines, and power lines can. By the way, the maintenance, management of motorways in Armenia today and always has been delegated to private companies. It is another matter who implements this management and with what quality. But this has nothing to do with the topic under discussion," added the press secretary of the Armenian premier.
