Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, who is in Tbilisi for the 6th meeting of the Georgian-Turkish Intergovernmental Economic Commission, Georgia Online reports.

According to the Georgian government, the meeting focused on the existing strategic partnership between the two countries and prospects for further deepening cooperation.

"The role of the joint economic commission in the further development of bilateral trade and economic relations was noted.

During the talks, infrastructure projects of regional and strategic importance that contribute to strengthening ties were discussed. The meeting also discussed current processes in the region and the particular importance of peace in the South Caucasus.

The Prime Minister once again confirmed the Georgian government's readiness to promote dialogue and thereby ensure lasting peace and stability in the region," the Georgian government said in a statement.
