The Emergency Management Service of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs received an alarm signal from an early warning system installed in the Devdorak tunnel area on the border with Russia, according to Georgia's First Channel.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in accordance with protocol, patrol police, customs service, border police, and all employees of private companies working at the Dariali checkpoint were evacuated to a safe place.

“All relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are on site to monitor the situation. There are no casualties,” the statement said.

At the same time, as a preventive measure, traffic was blocked.

The road is closed in both directions to all types of vehicles, the Georgian Interior Ministry emphasized.
