The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of the Kurds reported clashes with security forces subordinate to the new Syrian authorities in the in the Deir Hafer area of the Aleppo Governorate.
"At exactly 3:00 a.m. on Monday morning, factions affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government launched an attack on four of our positions in the village of Al-Imam, located in the Deir Hafer area. Our forces confronted the attack and responded as necessary in defense of our positions and fighters. Clashes ensued and continued for 20 uninterrupted minutes," the SDF Media Center informed on its website.
The SDF blamed the new Syrian authorities for this incident, calling it a "deliberate escalation and poses a serious threat to the stability of the region."
The Syrian Ministry of Defense (MoD) reported on Sunday that the forces of the transitional government in the northern Aleppo Governorate had repelled an attack by the SDF. According to the MoD, the Kurdish units attempted to enter the Al-Quriyah district near Manbij city, shelling one of the houses, and as a result, four Syrian soldiers and three civilians were injured.
