Israel’s security cabinet will meet on Thursday to discuss a possible “full military occupation” of the Gaza Strip, including areas where hostages may be held, The Jerusalem Post reports.

The decision to convene the meeting was made after a closed meeting chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The discussion was attended by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.

As the prime minister’s office noted, during the nearly three-hour meeting, Zamir presented options for future courses of action in Gaza and stated that the army is “fully prepared to implement them by any means.”
