Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan on Wednesday received the outgoing ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) to Armenia, John Gallagher, informs the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.

First, Papoyan thanked Ambassador Gallagher for the work he has done, and emphasized his significant contribution to the expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the opportunities for bilateral cooperation, the actions being taken by the ministry of economy to diversify Armenia’s economy, and the recently adopted export strategy by the Armenian government were discussed.

Reference was made also to the study of the UK investment potential for implementing possible investments in Armenia's free economic zones.

"Armenia is interested in continuing and further deepening of cooperation with the United Kingdom toward joint industrial production, development of free economic zones, as well as promotion of innovation-based entrepreneurship," noted the minister of economy of Armenia.
