Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW have reported a decline in profits, Motor.ru reports.
According to the results of the second quarter of 2025, Mercedes-Benz's profit fell by 69 percent compared to the same period last year, to 957 million euros. BMW's result amounted to 1.8 billion euros, a decrease of almost a third. And the profit of the Volkswagen Group, which owns Audi, amounted to 2.29 billion euros, which is also about a third less than the previous year's figure. At the same time, all three auto giants report an increase in the division of their hybrid and pure electric vehicles.
In the first half of the year, Mercedes-Benz's net profit fell by 56 percent, to about 2.7 billion euros. Revenue fell by 9 percent. Sales of passenger cars fell below 900,000 units (-6 percent), while the Mercedes-Benz Vans division managed to sell 176,000 vehicles (-16 percent). In the second quarter, the manufacturer delivered 547,000 vehicles (-9 percent), including minibuses and small trucks.
BMW Group profit in January-June amounted to just over four billion euros, down 29 percent. Revenue fell by 8 percent.
BMW's first-half deliveries were stable at 1.2 million vehicles, with the company expecting a slight increase for the full year. In the second quarter, BMW sold more than 621,000 vehicles, up 0.4 percent on the previous year.
Audi Group’s operating profit fell to 1.09 billion euros (-45.1 percent) in the first half. At the same time, the group's revenue grew by 5.3 percent. In the first half of the year, 794,000 cars (-5.9 percent), including Bentley and Lamborghini, were delivered to customers, and in the last three months—405,300 cars. The result for the second quarter of 2024 was 441,900 cars.
