It’s not that they didn't get a salary, but they demand improvement of work conditions. Mher Mirzoyan, director of a textile factory in Ijevan, Armenia said this in an interview with Sputnik Armenia—and speaking about the reports that a group of Indian citizens on Wednesday blocked a road in Ijevan and demanded a salary increase.

Mirzoyan noted that these Indian nationals are demanding a salary increase and a reduction in work hours even though they have a three-year employment contract with the appropriate conditions.

“It’s better for me to close down the facility rather than to work under those conditions. There are [Indian] employees whose three-year employment contract is ending. I buy [airline] tickets for them, send them home or, if they want, we extend the contract,” said Mher Mirzoyan.

Earlier, we reported that a group of Indian citizens working at a factory in Ijevan had blocked the Ijevan-Yerevan interstate motorway on Wednesday evening.
