Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has arrived in the United States on a working visit.

The head of state was welcomed by officials.

The working visit of Aliyev to Washington DC has begun.

It is being held at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.

The Armenian government had confirmed Wednesday Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to the US on Thursday and Friday to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The cabinet of ministers had announced that a trilateral meeting between Donald Trump, Ilham Aliyev, and Nikol Pashinyan, as well as a bilateral meeting between Pashinyan and Trump, will be held in Washington DC.

According to the US president's schedule released by the White House, Trump is scheduled to meet with Pashinyan Friday, then with Aliyev. In addition, a joint trilateral statement by the heads of the three states is planned to be released on the same day.
