During a press briefing at the White House, US President Donald Trump was asked if he had really set a condition that his meeting with Vladimir Putin would only take place if the Russian president first had to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the BBC reports.
"No, he doesn't," the US president replied.
Trump added that a ceasefire in the war in Ukraine depends on Putin.
"They would like to meet with me, and I'll do whatever I can to stop the killing," the US president said.
