Russia is ready to develop sound and pragmatic cooperation with Georgia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Izvestia.

“We [i.e. Russia] continue to maintain our position of readiness to develop sound, pragmatic cooperation with Georgia where it is beneficial for both sides. And we are ready to follow the path of normalization of bilateral relations with Tbilisi. Thus, in general, Tbilisi decides on its future courses of  action,” Galuzin said.

In April, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, had stated that his country adhered to a peaceful vision of relations with Russia, despite the existing territorial issues.
