One can hope for signing of an agreement leading to the conclusion of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said during a press briefing Thursday .

According to him, US President Trump is committed to peace, and this was demonstrated by the US intervention in the conflict between India and Pakistan, which he stopped. The same can be said about Cambodia and Thailand, he added.

As for Armenia and Azerbaijan, one can hope that on Friday the parties will be in Washington DC to sign an agreement that will serve as the beginning of a peace treaty, Rubio said.

US President Donald Trump will receive Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Washington DC today and will hold talks with them.
