The framework agreement to be signed during the meeting between the leaders of the United States, Armenia, and Azerbaijan envisions the participation of U.S. armed forces in peacekeeping operations in the region. This is reported by The Washington Post.

“President Donald Trump is poised to welcome the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to the White House on Friday and preside over the signing of a peace framework designed to normalize relations between the neighboring South Caucasus nations after a bloody four-decade armed conflict”

It is noted that since the start of the war in Ukraine, Russia has sharply weakened its influence in the post-Soviet region.

It is noted that “the historic meeting will occur at the White House — rather than in the Kremlin — which marks a notable rebuke of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who since unleashing full-scale war on Ukraine in 2022 has seen Russia’s sway over the post-Soviet sphere drastically weaken”.
