The meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has started at the White House.
Earlier, the U.S. president held talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. After the Trump-Aliyev meeting, a trilateral summit between Trump, Pashinyan, and Aliyev is planned.
It was previously reported that Trump may sign a document ending the enforcement of Amendment 907 to the Freedom Support Act.
If this happens, the United States would lift restrictions on defense cooperation with Baku, effectively canceling the provision of the 1992 Freedom Support Act that prohibits direct aid to the Azerbaijani government due to its disputes with Armenia.
