U.S. President Donald Trump stated that a possible peace plan involves returning part of the territories to Ukraine and a mutual exchange of lands with Russia. According to him, this is a complex process that should benefit both sides.

During an interview, commenting on possible scenarios for resolving the war in Ukraine, U.S. President Donald Trump said that the United States is considering an agreement option that would include mutual territorial concessions.

This means that Ukraine could transfer certain territories under its control to Russia, and in return Moscow would have to return to Kyiv some regions currently under its occupation.

Trump noted that, in his opinion, such an approach could bring the end of hostilities closer.

At the same time, Trump emphasized that final decisions depend on negotiations between the parties and the political will of both Kyiv and Moscow.

“You look at the territory that has been fought over for three and a half years, and, you know, many Russians have died, many Ukrainians have died. So, we are looking at it, but actually we are trying to return some territories and exchange some territories. It’s complicated. It’s really not simple. It’s very complicated, but we are going to return some territories. We are going to do some territorial exchanges. There will be a certain exchange of territories benefiting both sides,” said Donald Trump.

Trump’s statement has already sparked a wave of discussion in the United States, Europe, and Ukraine, since the issue of territorial concessions is one of the most sensitive in the context of the Ukrainian-Russian war.
