This project will provide Armenia with a railway connection to Russia, which we have not had for 30 years, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during a remote press conference, responding to a question about what this document could change in Armenia–Russia relations.

“Yerevan will gain a link to Central Asia, and China will gain access to the region. There is a view that such developments could pose a problem for the interests of Russia and Iran, but let’s look at it from another angle — this could become a good opportunity for U.S.–Russia economic cooperation,” Pashinyan stated.
