Investment companies may provide security services, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during a remote press conference, adding that there will be investors and investment companies.

“This in no way limits the powers or activities of the Police, the National Security Service, or the judiciary of Armenia. There are certain differences because we want to attract foreign investors. Azerbaijan, perhaps due to the absence of significant financial constraints, may not be interested in this,” Pashinyan stated.

As for who will ensure security, he assured that Armenia is responsible for security in Armenia, and Azerbaijan is responsible for security in Azerbaijan. “But returning to the business management model, I want to say the following: the activities of companies that provide security-related services in no way exceed the functions of the state bodies and local self-government bodies of the Republic of Armenia,” the prime minister concluded.
