Last night, after the signing of the agreement, I had a long conversation with my esteemed colleague Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov. We had already received information about the signed agreements, but I wanted to verify whether everything was exactly as we had been told or if there were any additional details — we discussed this carefully. We also discussed issues related to the corridor. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart.

"If this corridor, which we are jointly planning, is implemented, it will become an important part of a transport route stretching uninterruptedly from Europe to the depths of Asia. The Zangezur Corridor will be a key link connecting Turkey with the Turkic world through the Caucasus and the Caspian, and also connecting the Turkic world with Europe through Turkey, and further — to the depths of Asia. It will be a multifunctional route. I believe that this (Washington agreement) is a very important and positive development, and I hope that the corridor will be implemented in the near future," the Turkish foreign minister said.
