The new Syrian government is interested in the return of Russian military police patrols in the southern governorates of the country, as was the case before the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, sources said, Kommersant newspaper reports.

It is being clarified that the new Syrian authorities want to return the respective regions to Russian overseeing in order to limit Israeli military activity.
