The European Union (EU) will continue to support the implementation of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noted President Antonio Costa of the European Council of the EU.

“I had very positive phone calls this week with [Azerbaijani] President [Ilham] Aliyev and [Armenian] Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The historic initialing of the Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan marks a significant step forward toward a lasting peace — for both countries and the wider region.

The EU remains fully committed to supporting its implementation and to strengthening regional connectivity, helping communities overcome years of conflict and move toward lasting peace, stability, and prosperity,” Costa wrote on X.
