The death toll from the explosion at the Elastic factory in the Ryazan Region of Russia has reached 11, and 130 people were injured, the regional task force wrote on its Telegram account.

A total of 29 injured have been hospitalized. Sixteen of whom were taken to hospitals in Moscow, and 13 are being treated in Ryazan city.

Search and rescue operations are continuing at the scene, members of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the National Guard of Russia pulled out three more people from under the rubble.

“Work to eliminate the consequences is continuing. A state of emergency has been declared, entry to the incident area is prohibited,” added the aforesaid regional task force.

The incident in the Shilovsky District of the Ryazan Region became known on August 15. According to preliminary information, it had occurred as a result of an explosion of ammunition in a gunpowder store.
