According to the latest data, at least 660 people have been killed and 929 others injured in Pakistan due to monsoon rains that began in late June and the ensuing floods, said the country's National Disaster Management Authority.
About 2,500 buildings have been damaged, and nearly 30,000 people have been evacuated and placed in temporary shelters. Considerable damage has been caused to livestock and agriculture, too.
The authorities are making efforts to save lives and minimize the damage caused by this natural disaster.
