YEREVAN. - The strongest team of Armenia’s alpinism and tourist federation consisting of four alpinists will leave for Iran on January 24 in order to climb Iran’s highest mountain Demavend (5,671 m).

Armenia’s tourism and alpinism federation obtained the right to participate in the famous international tournament in 2011 due to several successful climbs done by the alpinists.

200 alpinists from 200 countries will participate in the tournament.

Armenia’s participation is of great importance as during the last ten years Armenia’s team did not participate in any tournament.
