During a recent event Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan mentioned the verdict on Hrant Dink’s case which has caused a lot of public discontent in Turkey recently. As the Turkish Radical informs Erdogan has pointed out that nowadays Turkey is not that old Turkey anymore.

“No one should get worried. Dink’s case trial will not get lost in the long corridors of Ankara. ‘Sari Gelin’ which is sang in 6 languages but with the same emotion cannot be silenced by a bullet shot in Sisli (‘Sari Gelin’ was Dink’s favorite song-editor). The murderer was arrested in 32 hours. No one is to judge the government on making decisions. Dink’s case trial is not over yet. There is still the protest phase,” Erdogan said.

To note, on Tuesday, the Turkish court found Yasin Hayal guilty of planning and organizing Hrant Dink’s murder, and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Erhan Tuncel, on the other hand, was found not guilty of prompting Dink’s murder, and, instead, he was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months for an explosion in a McDonald’s store.
