The Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: There is talk behind the scenes in the authorities that [ruling force MP and former minister of health] Arsen Torosyan will soon become a mega-minister, it is known that [PM Nikol] Pashinyan is transferring him from the parliament to him—to the post as minister of social affairs, and whose [current] head, Narek Mkrtchyan, he will sent to the US, with the status of ambassador.

It is rumored that after the 2026 [parliamentary] elections, the ministry of social affairs and the ministry of health will be merged, and Arsen Torosyan will be appointed head of the mega-ministry.

Let us recall that some of the former heads of the executive [branch of] power have periodically expressed such a wish, but this happened only in 2000, after the merger of the two ministries, Ararat Mkrtchyan was appointed head of the department, but months later the decision was changed, since both the healthcare and social security sectors are quite problematic and comprehensive.

However, what is most noteworthy in this news is that, in fact, Pashinyan has no doubt that he will be re-elected in 2026, and is already drawing such plans.
