Work on European Union (EU) visa liberalization is in an active phase, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia noted in a statement.

Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, has expressed appreciation for the work done by Armenia, and noted that the implementation of the respective action plan will set the timeframe for when Armenian citizens will be able to travel to the EU without a visa, the ministry added.

The action plan summed up by the European Commission of the EU is currently being agreed with the EU member states, and it will be officially transmitted to Armenia in fall, the ministry noted.

Armenia views the visa liberalization action plan as a strategic plan for its reforms in migration mobility and public security, the ministry stated.

“Armenia is committed to implementing these reforms with the aim of ensuring dignified and easy travel opportunities for its citizens to the European Union,” concluded the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
