The seismological network of Armenia on Wednesday recorded an earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.5, in Russia, at 12:33am local time, 75 kilometers southeast of Makhachkala city, and at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The tremor measured magnitude 7 to 8 at the epicenter, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Rescue Service of Armenia. The seismic activity was felt also in a number of communities of Armenia’s Tavush Province.
