The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide Armenia with a loan of €45.3 million. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia Lena Nanushyan during the debates on the ratification of the Healthcare Quality Improvement Program loan agreement between Armenia and the ADB at Monday’s meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
According to Nanushyan, these funds will be used to implement programs in the healthcare sector of Armenia.
The loan repayment period will be 18 years, of which 7 years are a grace period.
“The funds will be used for the construction and improvement of medical institutions, assessment of the quality of medical services, digitalization and institutionalization of reporting, licensing of medical institutions, development of human capital in the healthcare sector, implementation of a pilot project on telemedicine, and improvement of the use of e-health tools,” said the deputy minister of health of Armenia.
According to her, not only financial support will be important within the framework of the above-mentioned program, but also technical assistance being provided to the Ministry of Health of Armenia.
After the debates, the aforesaid parliamentary committee approved this government initiative.
