Armenia will continue to work with interested member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to further develop a mutually beneficial partnership with the organization. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan in response to a request from Armenian News - NEWS.am, referring to information circulated in the Azerbaijani media that Pakistan had blocked Armenia's application to join the SCO in response to a similar decision by India regarding Azerbaijan.

“We will not go into the details of the process now, but I can say that we see a fairly constructive approach and mutual understanding on the issue of Armenia's membership. With this understanding in mind, we will continue to work with interested SCO member states to further develop a mutually beneficial partnership with the organization,” the spokesperson said.
