YEREVAN. – Armenia’s characteristics as a partly free state, fixes its non-democratic character, expert at the Armenian Center for National and International Studies Edgar Vardanyan told the journalists on Monday.

Commenting on the estimation of the international human rights organization Freedom House, Vardanyan stated that Armenia got 6 out of maximum negative 7 points in the ranking of basic political rights and freedom. Meantime, the rating of civil freedom was 4.

“It means that society is drawn back from making decisions. The index 4 means just a certain freedom for press as well as holding rallies, demonstrations and pickets,” the expert said.
