A meeting of senior administrative officials of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) took place in the Chinese capital Beijing on the margins of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO member states and the SCO+ format, the CSTO press service informed, Interfax reports.

“A roadmap for the development of cooperation between the CSTO, the CIS, and the SCO was signed, as well as a joint statement by the CSTO, CIS, and SCO secretaries-general on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations,” the statement said.

“An exchange of views took place on topical matters of the international situation, as well as priority domains of activity of the three organizations,” the statement added.

“Proposals for further development and strengthening of cooperation in the field of regional security and in the fight against new challenges and threats were discussed,” the CSTO press service added.

“A unanimous opinion was expressed that the CSTO, the CIS, and the SCO are called upon to play an increasingly important role in maintaining global peace and regional security, and preventing instability.

The orientation towards the formation of a new Eurasian security architecture, the development of cooperation in the economic and cultural domains was noted.

The intention to ensure the convergence of integration projects and harmonize relations between development centers in Eurasia was confirmed,” the CSTO press service added.
