Russian President Vladimir Putin said that US President Donald Trump asked him to meet with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, TASS reports.
"By the way, Donald [Trump] asked me, if possible, to hold such a meeting [with Volodymyr Zelenskyy]," the Russian president said at a press conference after his visit to China.
Also, he expressed confidence that it would be possible to reach an agreement on a mutually acceptable option to end the conflict in Ukraine.
According to Putin, back in 2022, Russia had offered Ukraine to withdraw its troops from Donbas and stop the conflict, but after the withdrawal of troops, Ukraine had changed its mind.
