After weeks of speculation, US President Donald Trump has denied speculation that he wants to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

 “I have nothing to say about that,” Trump said in an interview with CBS News. “All I can do is prevent wars.”

 “I'm not looking for attention. I just want to save lives,” he added.

 In the same telephone interview, Trump told the publication that he was ready to help broker a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. “Something has to happen. We're going to do it,” he said.

 Earlier, the US president said he should be awarded the prestigious prize for his role in ending several conflicts.
