The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia does not have information about the exact dates and venue of the next 3+3 ministerial meeting, Sputnik Armenia reports, based on the response by the MFA to its written request.

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan had said in an interview with IRNA news agency of Iran that the next meeting in the 3+3 format could take place either in Armenia’s capital Yerevan or Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.

“The Republic of Armenia has expressed its readiness to host the next ministerial meeting of the 3+3 regional consultative platform. The Republic of Azerbaijan also had expressed a similar readiness,” the Armenian MFA responded to Sputnik Armenia.

The ministry added that discussions should be held to determine the dates and venue of this meeting.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during a press conference with Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan, had stated that the third ministerial meeting of the 3+3 format on the South Caucasus was being prepared, and Moscow was in favor of the next two meetings being held in Baku and Yerevan.

Russia has actively supported the creation of the 3+3 format—comprising Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia on the one hand, and Russia, Iran, and Turkey on the other. Georgia has not yet participated in these meetings, but the other participants have repeatedly stated that the respective “door” is open for Tbilisi.

The last meeting of the 3+3 platform with the participation of Armenian FM Mirzoyan was held in Istanbul, Turkey in October 2024.
