EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said that EU countries intend to supply Ukraine with 2 million artillery shells by October. She made this statement on Tuesday during a speech in the European Parliament, according to European Truth.

Kallas noted that to date, EU member states have provided nearly €169 billion in financial support to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale war. In this context, she recalled the supply of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine.

“Currently, they (EU member states) have also provided 80% of the ammunition from our target of 2 million rounds. By October, we aim to provide 100%,” Callas said.

This is necessary, she added, so that Ukraine can defend itself and its civilian population and repel the aggression.
