A Yekaterinburg Region district court of Russia has extended the pretrial detention of Mutvali Shikhlinski, the son of Shahin Shikhlinski, the leader of the local Azerbaijani diaspora, according to the joint press service of the Russian regional courts.

The court granted the investigator’s motion to extend the pretrial detention of Mutvali Shikhlinski.

The pretrial investigative agencies accuse him of committing a crime under Section 1 of Article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code—violence against a representative of the Russian authorities.

His pretrial detention has been extended until December 14.
