Pat daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: India and Iran have held consultations in Tehran between their foreign ministries to "improve relations".
According to reports, the negotiations are based on the promotion of the Chabahar Port [of Iran] activities, the development of the "North-South" international transport corridor, as well as other topics. In addition, a trilateral India-Iran-Armenia meeting, which has become a regular event over the past few years, has taken place, which has been taking shape over the past few years to establish ties between India and Armenia through Iran.
Reflecting on this topic, the "Republic Square" Telegram channel writes that the India-Iran-Armenia corridor will connect to the North-South, and this will enable Armenia to become a connecting link between the RF [i.e. the Russian Federation] and Georgia and Iran. Russian goods will be transited to Iran and the Persian Gulf, and Indian and Iranian goods will be exported via RA, as a corridor, to Georgian Black Sea ports (Poti, Batumi) and the RF (via Upper Lars).
“Armenia should attract direct investments from the RF—as a strategic ally and EAEU member state, from Iran—as a friend of the RA and a country countering the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, as well as from India—as an economic superpower which is also an opponent of Azerbaijan’s ally, Pakistan.
The number one task for the RA remains both ensuring security with Russian, Indian and, why not, also Iranian weapons, and economic development, in particular the development of the North-South corridor passing through Syunik[Province of Armenia], which will enable creating additional jobs in Syunik. "Armenia will continue to be under pressure from the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem.
And in order to withstand this pressure, it must have a strong army and a stable economy, with the help of allies, be part of regionally important logistics, energy-transport projects, implement new programs with neighboring Iran, Georgia, and become a bridge for the EAEU to the Iranian market of 80 million [people]," the [aforesaid Telegram] channel writes, and adds that, thus, to withstand the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, Armenia must rely on both traditional allies and find new allies, in the person of India; in this case, also to resist the Turkey-Azerbaijan-Pakistan coalition.
