There are doubts that Russia is not so well disposed towards Armenia, Armenia National Assembly speaker Alen Simonyan, told reporters Thursday.
He assured that Armenia treats all countries as brothers—unless they prove that they are not the same way towards Armenia.
“I don’t know whether or not they [i.e. Russia] are the same way towards us [i.e. Armenia],” Simonyan noted.
The Armenian parliament speaker added that the matter of withdrawing the Russian military base from Armenia is not currently being discussed.
“There have been no such conversations, I cannot say anything new,” Simonyan said.
According to him, the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Moscow cannot take place without a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I believe the [Armenian] head of state would not have traveled to Moscow if such a meeting had not been scheduled," added the speaker of the Armenian parliament.
